How do you calculate the cost per copy and why is this number important?

Your supplier calculates this number using the meter charge only which gives you an inaccurate picture of your real document production costs. CopyWatch calculates this number using the meter charge plus capital, plus maintenance, plus supplies, to get a realistic, total cost per copy. Total cost of document production is generally four to eight times higher than the copier supplier would have you believe. This is in the supplier's interest,not yours.
